vernacular typography

When I travel, I love to take photos of signage and other vernacular typography. The images become part of my memories of a certain place and time.

texture

I am fascinated by textures, especially those created through the effects of erosion or time. The macro view can be like a view into another world.

landscapes

Being outdoors, surrounded by trees and wind, is to me one of life’s greatest pleasures. In my landscape photos, I try to capture the dreamlike, sometimes mysterious quality I experience when alone with nature.

numbers

I started this series as a way of focusing on a specific aspect of typography and seeing how context affects it. The project then took on a life of its own. It has been a lot of fun!

sense of place

What qualities make a specific place memorable or recognizable? I think it’s often in the details…

portraits

This series is a work in progress, one whose focus I am still exploring.
